Rear mounted LEDs

If it’s a brilliant, evenly lit, super-bright SEG fabric light box you are after, then rear mounted LEDs are the way to go.

Features & Benefits

  • Bright - The standard configuration produces the brightest light of the three types we use.
  • ‍Customizable - The LED modules can be placed closer together to increase the light output (lumens) of the frame; up to 9 times the standard configuration!
  • ‍Evenly lit - No hotspots regardless of the size of the frame.

Things to Consider:

  • ‍The modules must be mounted to a backer material, usually that’s a 3 mm ACM (Aluminum Composite Material like Diebond or Alupanel). Where the frame goes, this backer goes. Backer sizes can be up to 4’ x 10’, think about transportation.
  • ‍The frame must be at least 4” deep to allow the light to diffuse and eliminate hotspots.
  • Mainly used for single sided frames. If you want a double sided one, it’s going to be two single sided frames mounted back to back.

Side mounted LEDs

Lightweight, portable and economical. These modules are mounted on the inside edge of the frame and cast light up to 4 feet towards the center of the frame - mounted on both sides they can cast up to 8 feet; this means that there is no need for heavy and large backer panels to hold the LEDs. Ideal for travelling displays or tight budgets.

Features & Benefits

  • ‍Lightweight - There is no need for a backer panel on the frame.
  • ‍Portable - The modules and power supplies are mounted on the inside of the frame, it’s self-contained and easy to transport.
  • ‍Versatile - Can be used for single and double sided frames.
  • ‍Serviceable - You can change out a module on-site if one fails.
  • ‍Economical - The low-cost method to transport and light-up a frame.

Things to Consider:

  • ‍One of the dimensions of your frame must be limited to 8 feet. Beyond 8 feet the light fades as it reaches the center of the frame.
  • ‍On large frames with plain images, you will notice that the light is not 100% even; it’s usually brighter close to the edge of the frame and fades towards the center.
  • ‍The only way to increase the light output (lumens) is to add modules to the perimeter of the frame, there is only so much room on the inside thus the increases are negligible.
  • A single sided frame must be at least 4” deep to allow the light to diffuse and eliminate hotspots. A double-sided frame needs at least 6” of depth.

Animated LEDs

Cutting edge, these LEDs allow you to animate a full colour (RGB) lightshow that moves around behind your printed fabric graphics. The animation can be changed and updated based on the graphics of the printed fabric. You are no longer limited to bland, white only, always-on lighting.

Features & Benefits

  • ‍Unusual - There aren’t many of these around… yet. Be the first to knock your client’s socks off!!
  • ‍Dynamic - Grabs the attention of a passerby, it’s not a just a static backlit image, it moves.
  • ‍Cool - The lights can be fully animated and programmed to change colour, shape and position for a custom lightshow behind your printed graphics.
  • ‍Animation - The animation is created to your specifications based on the design of the printed fabric.
  • ‍Chang-able - The animated lightshow is fully customizable and can be updated in seconds when new graphics are installed.

Things to Consider:

  • ‍It’s not cheap but it’s the coolest thing to happen to printed fabric graphics since printed fabric graphics ;)
  • ‍Each change-out of graphics should be paired with a new lightshow program. There is a cost associated with the programming, keep this in mind.
  • ‍The frame must be at least 4” deep to allow the light to diffuse and eliminate hotspots.
  • Only suitable for single sided frames. If you want a double sided one, it’s going to be two single sided frames mounted back to back. Each one can run its own unique animation.
